BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE OF THE TOWN OF CANANDAIGUA WHILE HONORING THE PAST

The Canandaigua Town Democratic Committee is committed to protecting and enhancing the quality of life in our community. This starts with protecting Canandaigua Lake and its watershed. The lake is our most important natural asset. It is the foundation of our community's history and future. Besides its natural beauty, the lake is the drinking water reservoir for over 60,000 people and the recreational destination for the region's tourism industry. It must be preserved for future generations.

Seeking Candidates to Run for Town Board

To continue making our democracy stronger, people need to have choices when it comes to voting for political candidates whether it's a local, county, state or national race.  Therefore, the Town of Canandaigua Democratic Committee is continually seeking well-qualified individuals who may be interested in running for the  Town of Canandaigua races:  town supervisor, town board, town clerk, highway superintendent and town justice.

An Excerpt from Eleanor Roosevelt's "The Moral Basis of Democracy"

"The second sacrifice which we make for Democracy is to give our government an interested and intelligent participation.  For instance, if a city, town or county meeting is called, we will not find something more interesting or attractive to do that evening.  We will go to the meeting, take part in it and try to understand what the questions and issues are.  Thus we start the machinery of Democracy working from the lowest rung upward."
